Yes. I went in person one night to Occupy Minnesota. I participated online in a variety of ways.
I've never answered one of these Writer's Block things before, but after looking at some of the answers it seemed worthwhile to add another Yes to the mix.
Why do I support the Occupy movement?
Because I can't afford a lobbyist.
Because "corporate personhood" isn't democracy.
...and "too big to fail" isn't capitalism.
Because of things like this. (What percent has your pay gone up in the last year or two? I'm sure you've worked hard, but I doubt it's gone up anything like that. In fact, if you're like most people, it may well have gone down.)
Ursula LeGuin explains it nicely by means of a fairy tale.
This open letter also says it well. I particularly liked this part: "Because when we defend the American Dream we're not just defending the idea of modest prosperity for people who put in an honest day's work, we're also defending the idea that those who go the extra mile should be rewarded accordingly."
