Also...

That T-rex I made? The one I posted about the other day? As I mentioned, he was for a colleague of mine whose kid recently had brain surgery. The T-rex was delivered on Monday.

I got this from my colleague on Tuesday:

Subject: you should have seen...
[child]'s eyes light up when I gave him the dinosaur yesterday.

His quote was, "It's my favorite, the teeth one!" Thanks a lot- that was super nice, and super creative- love it!

And today (after I said I was glad he liked it and hoped everyone was doing well):

he is doing really well.

last night in bed he called me in and said, "I need that special dino. the one the lady at your work made."

I sometimes think the best part of making things is peoples' reactions to them. What a wonderful reward.

Such a wonderful reward! The dino was super cute!!

with help of my mom and a friend, we make layette sets for the red cross (cruz roja) here in Chapala. The last girl (she was very young) who had a baby there and got a layette set started crying and when asked what was wrong, she said she was just so happy and praying for the ladies who made such beautiful things, that without them, her baby would have nothing. it made me start crying!
