You scored 100% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 87% Expert!
You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!

Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!

I'm kind of embarrassed that I got 13% wrong on the Expert section.

I'm a word nerd too. I managed 100% on all of 'em, but I have mnemonics for a bunch of them, and they didn't hit any of my trouble areas (like lie/lay).

One of the few things that makes me sad about my job is that I don't get to use these skills at all. I love writing and grammar and all that, and there really isn't any call for that when developing software.

It's a matter of style, not correctness. There is nothing wrong with using "farther" and "further" interchangeably. If one wants to use "farther" only for physical distance and "further" for everything else, that's fine, but let no one tell you that one is right and the other wrong (unless, of course, the source telling you is your client's mandated style...).

I only got it right because it was mentioned in Battlestar Galactica. Yep, really.

I got one wrong in the expert section because the dictionary of choice my clients mandate does accept (I had checked it in the past) "hung" as well as "hanged" by the neck till dead, so I went with "both."

Hmph. Only 93% on expert. Turns out I didn't know the difference between 'whoever' and 'whomever.' I was under the impression 'whom' was deprecated, and I very seldom make use of the word.
