I am getting better. We had some people over for low-key evenings a couple of times this weekend, mostly to keep [livejournal.com profile] azure_armand and me from going completely crazy. I am generally able to get up, walk around, etc. almost as normal, just really slowly to avoid straining my abdominal muscles at all. I spent most of the day off of pain meds entirely, and we went for a really slow walk around the block. (Literally around the block, no further.) I did have to give in and rest and take some meds this evening, but then, loopy as a loon, we went to a very nearby restaurant and had a nice dinner there. So I have ventured all of about 2-3 blocks from home, so far. Not too bad. Glad I had my man with me, though, for many reasons!

I don't know if I will attempt work tomorrow. If I take a taxi then the commute would probably be okay. It's the stairs that worry me: I did not do well with the smaller flight of stairs I tried yesterday. I could work a half day, or something. Or not go at all, it's not like I don't have a good excuse. But I am going to go crazy if I stay home much longer. I will see how I feel tomorrow, I guess...

Go crazy, or tons of pain...

I know which I'd choose, but then again, I'm already crazy.

staaaaay hooooome

To alleviate the temporary loopiness, I recommend taking up Gundam model building, or perhaps Warhammer miniature painting

I know about the crazyness, but take an extra day or two. Everyone will understand and it's VERY reasonable.

It's quite an eye-opener to have a walk around the block be a big achievement, isn't it? Keep it up!

I have to agree with the others -- stay home. Rest. It helps SO MUCH with healing and in the long run I dare say your total net craziness will be less, because you'll be back to 100% sooner.

Ahem:

No no; you are *healing*.

Some of us think that you couldn't possibly be getting "better" as you and yours are already the "best".

Just take your time healing, eh?

I'm glad to hear the mending is going well...I guess a little bit of stir-craziness every now and then, reminds us why we are not sessile creatures.
