I had a lovely Thanksgiving with my family. It was not particularly exciting, but it was really nice. [livejournal.com profile] azure_armand and I flew out early early Wednesday morning to the bustling metropolis of Grand Rapids, MI, from which we progressed to the nearly-as-bustling Holland, MI. In all seriousness, the towns are so small that the daunting holiday travel in DC was a very quiet, peaceful day at the Grand Rapids airport. Funny.

Spent time with [livejournal.com profile] jgs42 and R, which is always good. And my folks are doing well, and are taking care of themselves, and it was good to see them too. We called [livejournal.com profile] tomscud and played the game of everyone-in-the-family-on-the-phone-at-the-same-time, which is... amusing. (This reminds me, I need to get on my local and NYC contacts regarding job possibilites for him.) We fit a couple of games of bridge in (and I did well, or just lucked out with the cards). We took several walks. We ate an incredible amount of a very traditional Thanksgiving dinner. We went out to a couple of restaurants. We watched Murder on the Orient Express, which we'd never seen; we went out and saw Casino Royale, which was a lot of fun. We slept a lot.

And then we came back on Saturday. I got some work done on my SRP and we continued the relaxing trend. When I got into work this morning my boss exclaimed at how well-rested I looked. It's true. And I guess it says something that it bears remarking on. Hmph.

I am not ready for it to be The Holiday Season again. I have no idea what to give people. The only things I can think of that I know I want, that are material, are (a) my serger to be fixed, or (b) expensive dive things (dive computer, halfway decent underwater watch, dive slate - okay that last one is not expensive)... Oh well.

Busy busy week at work. Big Budget Submission due on Monday. Must also make dramatic progress on SRP. Must must. Okay, to that.
