+++: fayde arrives in a little while! In about half an hour I'll go hop on the Metro to go get her. Hooray!
--: I tried taking the French test today - I'm scheduled to take it for real on the 23rd. I failed, by one question. This makes me feel dumb. J'ai vraiment oublié la plupart de mon Français.
+: At least this test was just a practice. It didn't count. I have thirteen days to raise my score. I must develop some plan to study the various nasty tenses I never use - the passe simple, the subjonctif, etc. I really only remember the passe compose and the present. (I know, I'm being lazy on the accents.)
+: Apparently I am cute today. Several random people thought so, anyway. I am a bit baffled by this because I'm not dressed up or anything, but hey. I'll take what I can get.
+: Gorgeous, gorgeous weather. 70s. Sunny. Wearing a T-shirt and jeans is plenty.
+: I finally got my resume crammed onto one page and sent off a couple of directions.
-: So much more to do: homework, job search, etc.
-: Getting older.
+: Better than the alternative.
+: Also, too busy with other stuff (see above) to get angsty over birthday.
-: No real energy to make birthday plans.
-: Therefore, likely nothing much will happen.
+: Hey, weekend! And spring break!

Okay. More + than -, as usual. I am grateful for my life, even if I do feel un peu stupide. Wish me luck, and if anyone has any great online resources for brushing up one's written French, I'd be grateful.

Oh yeah. And if anyone wants to spend lots of money on me, I want the waterproof case for my camera (a Canon Elph SD 500).

Lit Le Monde. C'est ma meilleux idée. Je prends l'examen de langue aussi le 25 mars, et je suis nerveux aussi. 12? Je crois que c'est le seul temps à samedi, mais je ne suis pas sûr.

When i went to Paris years ago, we caught a taxi to take us to our hotel (we couldn't find the Metro station and we were exhausted). The address was "80" and I was rummaging through my French dictionary as the driver was gettting frustrated by my saying "eighty" at him.

*ping!*

I suddenly remembered how to say it in French. I felt like a superstar.

But it was the ability to order pain au chocolats that made me bless my high school French teacher.
