I'm thinking about signing up for Thing-a-Day.
I'm already busy... would it be crazy for me to commit to making something every day and blogging about it? Or would it be a good motivation for me to do something I want to do anyway?

Whenever I'm confronted with a "once a day" challenge it always winds up being too much stress.

But if I dial it down to a thing a week, I can usually do it- but that has disadvantages too, as far as its not as habit forming and only works when I pick a day of the week the activity is going to happen on.

However, sometimes it is more rewarding to do something every day.

Thing-a-day does look like a fun thing to try. If its too much stress you can always ditch it and try again some other time its going on, so the risk level is pretty low.

The reason I decided not to do something like this is that it seems to want you to finish one thing per day. It seems suitable for making meals and small crafts, but might make it harder to work on big projects.

That's really interesting, the "every day, or once" idea. I can't make it apply to everything in my life (the gym, for example) but I like it!

I'm gonna give it a shot. I suppose if I fail, the worst case is I make it partway through the month and still have cool stuff.

Yeah, it's only for small projects. But I have to be honest, I'm not making headway on big things right now anyway...

it's good motivation. it can be difficult to keep up with. there are days when it works well, and some days when it's a huge chore. it's a good idea to have a list of projects.. some smaller simple ones too for those harder days.

i've done it twice before. i had fun and have made things that really worked out, and some stuff that was thrown out not long after. but it definitely got me to do some projects i already wanted to do and it got my creative brain thinking when i ran out of those.

if you decide to do it and want a motivational buddy for some of the time.. maybe have some work days.. let me know!

Today I think I need motivation.

And mores. Or is that morays? Perhaps amore.
