It really sucks, a lot, that the very last words on the MN application for a marriage license are to affirm that "one of us is a man and one of us is a woman". Way to sour that part of the process there, Minnesota.

Lots of people have replied, but, I put my opinion most strongly with that of Dan Savage- that if you're not getting married solely to stand in solidarity with members of the GLBT community who are denied the right, it does less for you and them than doing something like making a donation to an organization like the HRC.

I think if I end up getting married, I might have a collection box for this kind of thing. I wonder how S4's parents would like that...

Yeah, that's true for us too. Although we did not think of the collection box idea... hmm. Now we are considering it.
