figmentI successfully completed my first triathlon! I swambikedran!
It was a beautiful day and a beautiful course. The swim (in the Schuylkill River) was not bad, although at the end I felt like I was fighting current (not sure if I really was, or if I was just tired). The bike ride was gorgeous, mostly shady and mostly flat, along the banks of the river. I got really tired at one point during the first lap (it was 2 8.5 mile laps) but K gave me a pep talk and I totally got a second wind. Most of the bike ride was really fun. But when I got off the bike ride to jog down to the transition area and head into the run, it felt like my feet were half asleep and filled with lead. It was really, really hard to go. I would not have made it nearly as quickly as I did through the run (I walked probably 1/3 of the time) without K's encouragement. Next time, I need to be better prepared for the run... yeah, I said "next time"! I don't know when but this was totally fun and I want to do it again. I feel great!
My overall time was 2:13:53 (detailed results online here).

azure_armand, who not only encouraged me, but also spent the whole weekend with me devoted to this somewhat madcap activity. Thank you sweetie!
