What would you do?

I was sick yesterday (and the day before, but I actually took a day off yesterday) with mild flu symptoms - sniffles and stuffy head and achy achy body and fever. Last night sometime late my fever broke, I woke up drenched in sweat, and slept better for the rest of the night. This morning, no fever, so I figured I'd go to work. But I still feel pretty dizzy & stuffy-headed and so on. I got an email from my boss, saying "don't hesitate to take another day off if you need it." I have no meetings today, a very competent grad fellow is there to handle the office, and I have a fair amount of sick time stored up. My commute is an hour each way and I have my SRP to finish up.

What would you do? (I was going to make this a poll but I am too lazy)
a. take the sick day, get better, slack off
b. take the sick day, get better, do some work from home
c. go to work for a half-day
d. go to work anyway, you can do it

...
I hesitated, oh yes, but I have decided to take the day. One more day of rest for me - but this time I work on my SRP, for as long as my head will allow it.

3 - 4 years ago, I had the flu, much like you had. Yup, fever broke, drenching sweat, etc. etc. etc. Woke up like you did, a little dizzy, and so forth. Went to work.
Was promptly out another 3 days. Ca you say relapse?
I'm glad you opted to take the day. YOu will be too.

Stay at home. Watch light movie and slack off. If you feel up to it, do work. Or you could call me...;). I'll be making phone calls all day long probably and will mostly be at my desk.

Duh, stay at home. If you need to appease your nagging sense of responsibility, keep in mind that your coworkers don't actually want you to come in and make them sick, and that your employer gives you sick days for a reason.
