Jul. 13th, 2006 09:16 amCONvergence was awesome! I had so much fun. I actually slept close to the right amount. I got to see a lot of people. Our costumes worked out really well on Saturday night and I had a heck of a good time with people not being able to recognize me. The wig really threw people off, I think...

And then after CONvergence, more fun! I feel like I packed as much socializing as possible into the short time I had there. Thank you to everyone who came out so that I could see you, and you, and you! And I'm sorry to anyone who I missed seeing.
I got back to DC Tuesday night, uneventfully. Went to work on Wednesday and worked an 11-hour day trying to catch up... there's some changes at work, one of the other managers resigned so now we have three weeks to find a replacement or at least an interim manager. Erg. This means more work for me! Whee.
Today I decided to ride my new bike to work! I don't know if this was the best idea, but it was fun. I left at my normal time (allowing an hour to commute), got slightly lost finding the Woodley Park metro station (I never walk or biked to it in the past), had no problem folding the bike or getting on the metro with it folded... got to the Tenleytown station and found out that the long escalators were out. I'm not sure quite how long those escalators are, because I stopped counting around 120 steps. But man, it was grueling to walk up those steps with the bike. I could have waited - waited like 1/2 hour - for the elevator, but I decided to be ambitious. I'm glad I did, I guess, but it was more of a workout than I was expecting. But! I will get in shape.
In other news, I hope I haven't missed my chance to go visit
tomscud in Beirut. Stupid missile-throwin' ratzen-fratzen...
