EL wire in clothing

Hey, spacebug, and others who've got some knowledge on this -

I think I may finally have time and inclination to make some clothing with EL wire in it. I know that this stuff is usually made for modding cars or computers. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for so that it can be powered with a small battery pack? Any recommendations for preferred internet vendors?

http://www.vibelights.com/ looks pretty good. They have battery packs that weigh in between 1.5 and 3 ounces, and a wide variety of colors. Any idea if they are as good as they seem, and any cautions/advice? Thanks!

Definitely ask eqe - I think he just ordered a bunch of stuff to play around with back in March, perhaps he's cracked it open and given it a run?

Whatever you find out, let me know! I want to try and put some kind of lights in my Burning Man outfit this year...

I liked the folks at coolneon.com. I don't think they make the same items as I bought (3 or 6 ft wire, any color you like, with a battery pack), but perhaps they have something similar. They have extremely helpful and friendly people on the phone, give good advice, and if you're in the bay area will even teach you how to solder.
