Apr. 17th, 2006 09:23 pmVisits to Minneapolis always go too quickly. As ever, there were people I wanted to see that I didn't manage to fit in. I console myself with the knowledge that we'll be back in July for CONvergence, and I will probably see many of you then. But I apologize anyway.
The most important thing about our visit, of course, was the rollerderby. Which was totally awesome!! It would have been even more awesome if the Bombshells had won their match (I yelled and cheered for them, but to no avail), but it was pretty amazing. I am so proud of the Rockits and especially of
spacebug for winning!! They are so cool, with real teamwork and strategy (and some kick-ass jammers). Rollerderby's pretty darned cool, too, and I look forward to seeing future games. Very exciting and fun.
It was great to spend social time with a variety of people, too. We didn't do anything at all last night, though - when the family dinner was over it was already 9:45 or so, and we just didn't feel like trekking out of Bloomington then. But we thought of you all most fondly.
While I was there, I also got a suit. I think it's exactly identical to one
spacebug has. But now I can dress the part for fancy office stuff.
Anyway. Now we're back in DC. Back to work tomorrow and working hard on some class projects that I need to make happen FAST! Well, I foresee a busy couple of weeks. One thing I have to do is ask my SRP advisor if it's okay if I delay finishing the thing until June. I'm pretty sure he'll say yes. (SRP = mini-thesis)
...Woops, we forgot to buy mock duck, again. Silly us.
