May. 20th, 2010 08:59 amEvery night this week has been busy.
Monday night I went to a Campaign Convergence meeting (it's a room party at CONvergence; I need to work on posters more for that) and then to Goth Prom. It was totally fun; everyone looked fabulous; I danced and had a good time. I think
star5 got a couple of decent pictures of us in our finery that I hope to see sometime!
Tuesday night I went to a special interest group working on e-learning tools, where a handful of other e-learning type professionals helped me think about how to choose a LMS (Learning Management System). It was productive and I appreciated the help. It also meant that I essentially worked from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM that day. Maybe 8:30.
Wednesday night
pisces3857 came over and we worked on CONvergence Facilities stuff for a while. It was good to see him, and it was productive. I am working on sucking all of the knowledge out of his head and the other Facilities peoples' heads and documenting it, so that when if they are abducted by aliens we can still have a hotel & other Facilities stuff for CONvergence.
Thursday night, tonight, I was going to have my one night of free time this week. Instead, I'll be attending The Advocates for Human Rights' Awards Dinner tonight. I'm happy to be going - the keynote speaker is Dr. Azar Nafisi, who is a women's rights advocate in her home country of Iran, and wrote the book, Reading Lolita in Tehran (among others). But it does mean that I have yet another evening of not slacking off, not cooking/cleaning, and not working on any creative or other volunteer work. It's okay, it'll be great.
It looks like on Friday we'll be watching
r0ckc4ndy (& others) do some circus performance. And Saturday is triplebooked for me during the day with a conference (that's what I'm actually going to), a ConCom meeting (sorry, can't), and a building-wide artists' rummage sale (nope). The evening holds one kind of birthday festivities or another.
I'm grateful that right now Sunday looks free before dinner, when
minnehaha K & B are coming over, as well as my upstairs neighbors, who are not on lj that I know of. So hopefully I will have time to clean and cook and sleep in a little!
