Well, so far my life of unemployment is not slack and lazy. Or not really. :-) In the last three days I have:
*bought a new phone charger
*gotten packing supplies
*made dinner a couple of times
*gotten a massage (that was sheer pleasure)
*made a gift for my ex-boss - a piece meant to be a wall hanging, with a lotus on it, made through a combination of applique, beadwork, and quilting
*cleaned the oven like no tomorrow. The thing is basically spotless, and I'm pretty sure is cleaner than when we moved in
*done a little bit of "consulting" for the ex-job
*worked on music for the wedding
*done some CONvergence posters
*done other wedding-related stuff
*worked out twice

I feel good, although I would feel even better if I could add "applied to jobs" to that list. Or "packed". Oh well; tomorrow.

Hey, by the way, do you have a better idea of when you'll be passing through our neck of the woods? City Hall tells me there is one place where one can park a commercial vehicle, and it's about a mile from our place, and it requires getting a permit in advance from City Hall during business hours. They actually just suggested that you park the truck in front our place and just pay the ticket if you get one ($35).

Ahh. It doesn't look like we will be stopping in Chicago overnight, at any rate. We will leave DC at around noon (depending on how things go) on Monday, June 29th. We plan to drive about 8 hours or so that day, which would get us to the Toledo area. (Unfortunately, to get to Chicago is about 11 hours, which is rough when you start at noon.) It looks like it's about 4 hours from Toledo to Chicago, so at best we might arrive in Chicago around lunchtime on the 30th. But I know you guys both work so... well, so I'm not sure we'll actually get to see you on this drive. With 4 people and 2 cats we kind of just want to get it over with (and of course there's a deadline to get the truck in too). If you think it's possible to see you for lunch on a Tuesday, let me know! But otherwise we will wait a few weeks.

Ah well, bummer. Lunch seems pretty impossible - good luck finding parking for a moving truck in downtown Chicago - so I guess we'll see you at the wedding!

Getting packing supplies counts as part of packing.
