figmentObama is speaking at AU today. I'm going to see if I can get in, although I don't intend to stand in line all morning. (ETA: No, I didn't get in. I couldn't even get into the overflow area where they were watching it on TV. So I watched it on the web instead. Not a bad speech.)

In other news, um, it was a good weekend. I ordered myself some new clothes 'cause I'm thoroughly sick of the ones I have. Azure and I went ice skating at the National Sculpture Garden, with friends M & B. I'm really bad at skating but if I did it more than once every few years I might be a bit better... it is really fun anyway. On Sunday I made waffles (of my uncle Jim's "Healthy Waffles?!?!" recipe) and we ended up with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
msmaryclare and whthorse helping us eat them up. I did some random crafty stuff too, which felt good. I even like the way two of them have come out so far.

My parents left for Germany on Saturday. They're there for a complicated surgery my dad is having. The surgery may be happening as early as today, or possibly tomorrow. I hope everything goes well. I'm sure he's in good hands but it doesn't stop me from being worried.

Sorry I have not been updating much. I don't know why I haven't. Too tired, maybe; or just not much to say that I think would be interesting.
