I am trying to balance social life and paper-writing. It seems to be going... okay. Yesterday's social life consisted of msmaryclare and daviathan coming over and having dinner with us. It was a fabulous dinner because they brought three or more items to contribute, so with the soup and salad from us it was quite a spread. The company was also excellent, and their gift thoughtful and kind (and it smells great!).

I made some headway on gifting yesterday but not enough. I made a bunch of online orders that mostly takes care of family etc. But I have yet to actually GO anywhere to pull off the gifting stuff and well, it's starting to make me nervous. I have gotten no gifts for anyone other than family (azure's and mine), and there are a few things for family that require trips to various real physical stores. I think that gifts for people here are likely to be bought at Zingerman's in Ann Arbor, or other places like that.

But I have to finish my paper first.

The one thing that makes me really nervous about the paper is that I wanted, badly, to have an interview with one of the main actors/developers of the training exercise I'm working on. That interview was supposed to contribute a fairly large amount to the paper. But the actor has been... difficult to pin down. Last contact with him, he said he would call me on Monday to set something up and maybe we could talk on Thursday. I'm going to try to get him to agree to Wednesday instead because we fly out on Friday and I have to hand the paper in on Thursday. Agh!

Okay. I'm nervous now and fired up so I better go make some headway on this. I hope you're all enjoying your holiday prep.

I'm not enjoying holiday prep time at all. We can be stressed out together.
