figment: A treewoman, a dryad, her arms are branches (thoughtfulcat)

I am, once again, Over-commitment Girl. I must really like being busy.

But it's not agreeing with me. I woke up at 4:45 this morning and could not get back to sleep. Thoughts about various work things kept running through my head. I got up and noted the thoughts down to try to calm my brain, but that didn't do enough. So today I was tired.
Also, the stress-itchy-skin thing is totally maddening and awful. I currently have at least three patches of skin on my legs that I keep on scratching at (or putting lotion on, when I am thinking more). This is becoming enough of a pain in the butt that I may go see a doctor for it. I don't know what they would tell me that I have not already figured out, though.

Today I was a little short-staffed so I had to do two peoples' work, which really meant that anything that was not Top Priority got shoved to the back burner and I didn't get it done. Argh. Then I went to pick up my veggies and volunteered, because I am An Idiot, to help the farmers out with creating some brochures or something for the Green Festival that they're going to in a month or so. This is, essentially, in place of me actually going out to the farm and helping, because heaven knows I have no time to do that. And then I went to the dive shop and was unable to wrangle a deal on SCUBA gear and felt a bit resentful over that and over being a captive audience but oh well, here I am $400 later with a spare mask (maybe I will resell it), fins, boots, gloves, regulator mouthpieces, dive bag, PADI stuff, etc. etc. At least it is stuff I will use, and hopefully use a lot. Well, not the gloves though. I'm going to have to sell those when I'm done with the course. They're so thick.

Because [livejournal.com profile] azure_armand is a sweetheart, he picked me up with all of my stuff. Which is good, because I was carrying two bags of produce, a Giant Gear Bag, and my normal backpack. I don't think I would have been very happy walking very far with all of that.

Demonstrating his further excellence, Azure has also made me a mojito, and dinner. Which I will now eat.

Hopefully tomorrow I will not be congested at all. It's the first day of actual diving in SCUBA class.

P.S. Also, I voted in the DC primaries. In both of the races I had any opinion on (and my opinions were slight), the candidate I voted for lost.

M and I are thinking we should all go diving in a lake around here next year, assuming you make it into town at some point.
