It's true. My job is keeping me really busy. I guess eventually I'll have all kinds of free time - but not yet. Things seem to be going pretty well - but there's a lot to do and I feel constantly busy.

Our guest, [livejournal.com profile] pied_piper70, is also keeping me busy. We have gone out to eat numerous times, been to the orchestra, and to BEA, and so on. Going to BEA was weird; I not only ran into all of the Llewellyn people I expected, but also Graywolf Press (no one I really know works there any more), my upstairs neighbor (there to sign her somewhat risque book), and David Unowsky of Hungry Mind days. That was... a weird mix of nostalgia and made me feel like in some ways I will never leave the book biz. But man, I got a lot of free books. And sore feet.

Today we saw [livejournal.com profile] minnehaha B. speak at the ACLU (which was really interesting), and then all went to lunch together. The lunch was good; the conversation was better.

Let's hear it for a job where I can take part of a day off to do that, and not have any problems. In my first official month on the job.

It'll be Memorial Day weekend this weekend. I hope we can find a good thing to do - go camping or something. The ocean's still a little chilly for the beach to be an appealing option.

Er. Anyway, the glass and a half of wine was good but makes it hard to type. It's been great having [livejournal.com profile] pied_piper70 here visiting. I always enjoy when people come to visit. When are you going to come?
