Jul. 23rd, 2012 09:45 amThanks to everyone who came and helped - I know I thanked you when you were there, but it bears repeating - THANK YOU again! We had another weekend of really good progress.
I updated the flickr set with pictures from this weekend's work, but mostly what you're seeing is people's smiling (or not) faces. You can see the work around them. We got the bedrooms almost entirely painted (less one ceiling and one closet), the dining room ceiling done and walls primed, the living room ceiling mostly done and walls mostly primed, and that one pesky awful living room wall beautifully skim-coated so that it can be primed soon. The radiators also got cleaned (probably for the first time in 30 years), and either painted to match the room they're in, or primed. There was also some random progress on things in the kitchen that will be very helpful in time.
Our fabulous bathroom-workin' team got the plumbing largely done in there, which is AWESOME. The plumbing looks so much better than it did. Still a ways from totally "done", but the hard plumbing work is something I know nothing about and am so happy to have handled by a very skilled friend. Soon we will be able to move on, in the bathroom, to rebuilding walls, re-laying floor, and the exciting/tedious work of painting and tiling in there.
Today we meet the floor-refinishing people at 3 to get an estimate and schedule their work. I think we will probably ask them to come in next week. That gives us this week and weekend to finish the walls off, at which point I promise pictures that actually show the finished walls with less smiling faces and ladders and painter's tape in the way. I'm very excited that the floors will be done by someone else, without us having to be there.
