Pretty good day
Sep. 17th, 2007 06:45 pmI know I often post bad stuff, so I should note that life of late has been pretty good. Today, for example, was really all right. I had no problem getting to work on time, my workload was totally manageable, I have caught up on stuff I was behind on for weeks and weeks, my desk is cleaner than it's been in months and I'm even finally getting to some really back-burner stuff. Some of that all may have to do with the fact that my boss is out of town and has been for a week, so nothing new has been added for me... Today also involved a reception for the new University Librarian, and a pleasant lunch with interesting discussions.
The weekend was good too, and had a nice mix of activities. I got a lot of sleep on Friday night. On Saturday I went shopping (!) at a mall (!!) with a friend from work, and got a couple of nice things to wear for work so I'm not so sick of my work wardrobe. Unfortunately, I did not make it to
dubaiwalla's housewarming party, for which I am sorry. (I was just peopled out.) Sunday I got to spend some nice time talking and sewing with
msmaryclare, and we cooked a really good dinner that night. We also went to Meridian Hill Park and enjoyed the sunshine, the fountains, the view of the city, the large group of people jamming (mostly drummers and percussionists, but a flautist and a trumpet too, I think), the people with their kids and dogs and bikes... I got to read in the sunshine, always a favorite occupation.
I hope the week has started as well for all of you.
