Awesome Google widget

http://tools.google.com/gapminder

Charts life expectancy against income per capita, all over the world. Color coded by regions shown on a map. You can single out particular countries and watch their progress from the 1970s or so on. Really, really neat. Also depressing when you look at countries like, oh, Rwanda.

There are also a bunch of other things to track... the side bar is a clickable link so you can track things like physicians per 1000 people.

Way cool

... thanks for sharing! Kinda grim to animate it and watch Africa start to drift down like snowflakes around the early-mid '90s.

Here (http://www.ted.com/tedtalks/tedtalksplayer.cfm?key=hans_rosling) is a lecture about this very cool tool. If only my college professors had been so animated! (Well, a few were.)
