The noteworthy ads - the non-trailer ones - were largely violent. I was a bit disturbed and didn't think that most of them were that funny or clever, either. Uggabugga exaggerates the seriousness of the Grand Theft Auto-style one; that was mostly "hey look everything is sweetness and light!" and the real violent overtones come only from the setting (since GTA, the game, is so violent). I didn't see the Toughbook commercial. The first one we saw was the Bud Light commercial, which I was astounded by - and really put off (not that I'd drink Bud Light anyway). The Doritos one was also too violent and not at all funny to me. I actually thought the Careerbuilder series was pretty funny, which the other violent ones weren't (to me).
The Americans Against Escalation in Iraq ad did actually get shown, and I was very excited to see it. I didn't expect it.
The one ad I heard about but didn't actually see was a proposal. I heard that some dude was going to propose to his girlfriend via a commercial at the SuperBowl but by the time we left, we had not seen anything of the sort.
